Access PA Power Library is now available on this website for you to use for home research.

 

The Power Library, an initiative of Govenor Tom Ridge's administration with the support of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, is offered as a service of Pennsylvania's public libraries, school libraries and the State library.  The POWER Library allows you to access thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people and more.  You'll find materials of interest in most subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults.  The following items are available via the Access PA Power Library.... check them out!

 

EBSCO - A comprehensive periodicals and reference database including:  MasterFILE Premier, Business Source Elite, Health Source Plus, Newspaper Source, Middle Search Plus, Primary Search and ERIC.

 

Searchasaurus - Ebsco's user search experience for elementary and middle school students.  This colorful, graphical interface makes research simple and fun.  These full text databases are searchable by keyword or by simply clicking on a subject of interest.

 

Encylcopedia Americana Online, Grolier, Inc. - Over 45,000 articles, plus bibliographies, tables, maps and continuously updated links to related sites.

 

SIRS Discoverer Deluxe - An interactive reference tool for young readers including:  full text articles and graphics, country facts, World Almanac

 

Associated Press Photo Archive: An archive of 500,000 current and historical photographs that can be searched by date, place and subject.  More than 800 photographs added daily.

 

ACCESS PENNSYLVANIA Database:  Catalog records and location for materials owned by over 1,500,000 school, public, academic and special libraries in Pennsylvania.

 

All these research tools are at your disposal through Access PA POWER Library. 

How can I access it?  It's simple.

Click on the Access PA Power Library Icon below and it will take you into this power research tool.  You will be asked for the first 13 digits of your Martinsburg Public Library Card Number.  Simply enter it in, click the submit button and your in.  If you do not have a Martinsburg Public Library Card, you must stop in at the Library and apply for one.  If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent/guardian with you.  Please stop in.  Check out our hours of operation.
