NEW: Free Meal Waiver Set to Expire in June 2022

Child Nutrition waivers implemented by the federal government during the COVID-19 pandemic are set to expire this summer. One of the most important waivers was the Seamless Summer Food Program (SSO), which provided all students with free meals, regardless of income status. This waiver is set to expire on June 30, 2022. An extension is possible, but not likely. Please be aware that upon expiration of this waiver, meals will no longer be free to all families. Free and Reduced price meal applications will need to be completed in order to qualify for such meals.  The applications will be available to fill out after July 1, 2022.

Executive Secretary/Transportation

Beginning with the 2020/21 school year Northern Bedford County School District does not permit daily bus changes.

Requests for a permanent change to your child's schedule or to pick up your student/s at the conclusion of the school day will be permitted.

A permanent bus transfer means making a permanent schedule for your child to follow.

Permanent bus transfer requests are to be to an approved bus stop of another student as has always been required.

Once you have submitted a permanent bus transfer request you will not need to make that request every school year.  Confirmation of your child's transportation is now a part of the yearly online registration process in August before school starts.

To make a permanent bus transfer please click the link to the right of this page, Permanent Bus Transfer Request form.

For all transportation questions you may contact Mrs. Stacy Pressel, Executive Secretary/Transportation, spressel@nbcsd.org or by calling 814-766-4702.
