•  Permanent Bus Transfer Request

Beginning with the 2020/21 school year Northern Bedford County School District will not be accepting daily bus notes.  We will be accepting requests for a permanent change to your child’s schedule.  Requests to pick up your student/s at the conclusion of the school day will be permitted.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for consistency of transportation schedules during green or yellow phases the need arose to eliminate the daily bus changes.

When our district is in a green phase we will be having school and activities as we had before COVID-19.  However, if our district is in a yellow phase, which could be issued by our governor or by our district because of a rise in COVID-19 cases, your child may be only attending school 2 or 3 days a week.  This is why we need your child to have a set schedule to follow no matter the day of the week he/she would attend.

Permanent bus transfer requests will be accepted for your student/s.  A permanent bus transfer means making a permanent schedule for your child to follow.  We can no longer move students from bus to bus daily.

Permanent bus transfer requests should be to an approved bus stop of another student as has always been required.

Once you have submitted a permanent bus transfer request you will not need to make that request every school year.  Confirmation of your child’s transportation will become part of the yearly online registration process in August before school starts.
